What file format should my photos be in?

Please ensure all digital files are in JPEG format (filename.jpg or filename.jpeg) prior to uploading.

How do I upload my photos?

Start a new project by filling out an order form and selecting the “Customize” button to begin your page design.

  1. Select a theme for your design.
  2. You will be prompted to upload photos from your device (computer/phone/tablet), social media, or to import photos from another recent project.
  3. Select the location of your photos, then select the photos you wish to work with, either individually, or by choosing the “Select All” button at the top right of the design module.
  4. Review your selections at the bottom of the screen: arrange the order of appearance and remove any photos that aren’t needed for the project before adding them to the page design.
  5. Your photos will now be imported into your project and you may customize as you wish.
  6. You may see the photos in your project and add more photos to your work-in-progress by selecting the “Photos” menu item on the left-side of the design module.

Can I upload photos from multiple sources (e.g., my device & social media account)?

Absolutely! You can upload photos to a project from your device (computer/phone/tablet), as well as Facebook and Instagram. You can upload in any combination of the sources, and additional photos can also be uploaded as you are designing – just select “Photo” from the Designer Menu.

NOTE ON FACEBOOK & INSTAGRAM: As of April 2018, file sharing from these services has been temporarily halted until such a time as Facebook has finished reworking their privacy policies regarding third parties. We anticipate that they will resume their review process shortly. In the meantime, please download your photos from Facebook/Instagram to your device first, then you can upload to your Album Envy project.

What is a theme?

A theme provides an overall look and feel for your page designs. It is a starting place that ensures all your photos have the best possible placement on the pages. You can always modify individual layouts and backgrounds using the tools in the Designer Menu.

How do I use the Auto-Fill feature?

Your photos will automatically fill the pages of your chosen theme when you upload at least enough photos to fill the minimum number of pages.

If you upload less photos than will complete the page-designs, you will need to drag-and-drop your photos onto the pages as you’d like them to appear.

You can always add more photos along the way, as well as delete unused picture placeholders in the design.

Can I customize my design after I’ve used the Auto-Fill feature?

Yes! You can swap, add and delete photos, rearrange pages, and add borders, backgrounds and text!

Can I change the book size while I’m working on a project?

You can't change the book size on a project you've already started, but you can start a new creation in a different size, and may also choose to re-use the photos from the first project.

Can I save my work and finish later?

Yes! Clicking the “Save” button in the design module will save your work-in-progress to your account for 30 days. You can access it during that time by logging-in, going to the “My Account” menu and clicking the link for “My Projects”. Select the saved project you wish to work with and it will be loaded into the design module so you can complete your masterpiece!

Can I save my design to my home computer to print myself?

Album Envy’s design tools are exclusively for use in creating Album Envy products.

Can I copy text from another document and paste it into my book design?

Sure! Simply add a text box to your page design, select & copy the source text, then paste it into the text box.

How do I change the number of pages in my book?

When you start a design, the software will look at the number of photos you uploaded and your chosen design theme to create enough pages for all your photos.

You can add or remove pages by looking for these icons in the design software:

WHEN ADDING - You can click “Photo” from the Designer Menu to either choose a photo that’s already included in your project, or upload new photos, then drag & drop them onto the new pages.

WHEN DELETING - The software won’t let you go below the minimum number of pages needed.

How do I rearrange spreads in my book design?

Look for the “Reorganize” icon:

After clicking, select a spread from the list and drag & drop it between two other spreads. (The first and last pages can’t be moved, only edited).


Can I change the layout on a page or spread?

Yes! The Album Envy Designer provides TONS of layouts that you can apply to each page.

How many pages can I get in a book or album?

You can design up to 100 pages in an Album Envy book or album.

All books start with 10 pages, and you can add pages in increments of two.

What is the minimum number of pages I need to have?

Each book starts with 10 pages.

Can I write on the pages in my book?

We don’t recommend it, but there are pens made specifically for use on silver halide photo prints. Other pens or markers may ruin your photos.

Do you make any adjustments to my photos before printing?

We print your photos as we receive them, without making adjustments. Please make any necessary edits to your photos before uploading.

What fonts can I use for foil stamping on my book cover?

Foil stamping is a traditional method of pressing letters into your cover material to leave an imprint. The letters stay the same size no matter what book size you choose, so please be aware that you won’t be able to fit the same number of characters on smalls books as you could on books that are wider.

Pro Tip: When creating a small book, choose the smallest font size available and keep letters to a minimum.

Pro Tip: Try using initials instead of full names.  A + E is modern and sophisticated on ANY book size!

Pro Tip: Stamping in the lower right corner of your book looks best on wide books and with few characters.

What is a lay flat book?

“Lay-flat” books do just that – the pages lay relatively flat for viewing. The pages in traditional books are pinched in the middle from sewn or stapled binding.

Are your products branded?

We hope you’re as proud to own an Album Envy book as we are to craft it for you. An Album Envy logo is included in the back of each of our books, but you may opt to have it removed when you start your order.

Typical turnaround for books/albums is 3-5 business days plus shipping from NY.

Transit time from NY is usually 1-3 business days via USPS Priority Mail.

Where can I view my order history?

Your order history can be viewed when you are logged-in. Under the “My Account” menu, select “My Orders”.

Will I be charged sales tax?

Customers in Michigan and New York are subject to sales tax when ordering from Album Envy. Rates are based on your locality and will be shown during checkout.

What payment methods can I use?

Before moving on: Please check-over your entire order carefully, paying special attention on every page to positioning of images and text, spelling, cropping, page order and all other customized options.

How do I know if my order went through?

After placing your order, you will be redirected to a confirmation page. You will also receive an email with your order confirmation. Save this for your records.

Once your order is ready to ship, we'll also send you an email with your tracking number.

Can I cancel my order?

It’s easy and no experience needed! Simply choose your favorite book type and cover style get started.

  1. Select your size & options, then click the Customize button to start your page design.
  2. Choose a theme for your design and upload your photos.
  3. Customize your book as little or as much as you like, then add to cart.

Can I request a rush?

Do to the handmade nature of our products, we cannot accept rush requests.

Most orders will ship within 3-5 business days.

Do bulk orders take additional time to complete?

Yes. Please allow extra time for orders with many components.

What currency are your prices listed in?

All prices are in US dollars.

Do you accept purchase orders?

We’re sorry, but coupons, special offers and promotions cannot be applied retroactively.

Can I edit items that are already in my cart, but not yet ordered?

Cover options can't be edited - it would require starting a new creation. But if you’d like to review or make changes to your page layout before checking out, you can go to My Projects in your Account Dashboard.  Click the “Edit” button next to the project you’d like to modify. 

Be sure you remove the original version from your cart before checkout.

Can I edit items that are already on order?

We're sorry, you are not able to edit items after you've placed your order. Please be sure to check your items carefully before placing your order.

If you've ordered by mistake, you have 30 minutes to cancel your order from the time it was placed.

Click the link Forgot Your Password? on the Sign-in Page. Once redirected, enter your email address as prompted, and you will be sent an email with instructions to reset your password.

What if I believe there's an issue with color or image quality on my order?

You can rely on us as experts to accurately reproduce the color and clarity you provide to us in your photos. Here are a few things to note before moving on:

  • The colors you see on your screen may not be the same as what will actually print unless you are using a professional-grade monitor with an external calibration device.
  • Fuzziness or pixilation happen with low resolution photos that don’t have enough information in them to display clearly when printed or enlarged. Think of how a piece of fabric may become see-through as you stretch it larger – there just aren’t enough additional threads to fill the gaps.

Hiccups with print quality are rare, so if you believe there is an issue with your order not related to the quality of the photos you submitted, one of our experts will gladly look over your order images – if all is well, a free reprint will be started for you.

What if I received an item with an error?

We want you to love your Album Envy products. We will gladly replace any item where we’ve made a mistake if you notify us within 30 days.

Unfortunately, we cannot replace product where there was user error. There is a 30-minute window after placing an order where you can cancel your order if you realize you made a mistake.

What does the red exclamation (!) mean?

If you see a red exclamation point (!) on one of your photos, it is telling you that this photo is low-resolution and may look pixelated/blurry/fuzzy when printed.

Use with caution, and know that just because it looks clear on your screen doesn’t mean it will be clear when printed full size in high-resolution.
